The ultimate test of the Canon G9 will be when a shoot a brick building on Central Park West, side by side with my other cameras, so the results can be compared. But today the weather was not right for doing that sort of comparison.

Great blog, Mike.

How are you getting along with that optical viewfinder on the G9? I've found it the only real let down on this piece of kit. It just does not seem to point where it should and it's very difficult to compose with any precision. I just use the lcd screen now.
Apart from that it's a great camera.
